DAMAGE/LIABILITY 4 CORNERS INSPECTION
-Scanned vehicle, which had two codes in the computer-po301 which is a cylinder one misfire, and a code c1252 which is vacuum pump control circuit performance… With vehicle running you could feel that it was misfiring. Removed coil for cylinder 1 along with the plug, looked at the cylinder 1 plug which didn't look horrible. It was a little wet and smelled like fuel. Pulled cylinder 3 coil out and swapped cylinder 1 coil then put it all back together. Test drove vehicle several times and could not get it to have a consistent misfire, it would have one or two here or there and then it was fine. Letting it sit all weekend and firing it up this morning it smelled like it was burning coolant. Shut the vehicle off & pulled out the cylinder 1 coil and plug, then stuck the camera down into the cylinder and you can see the coolant that had pooled up inside the number 1 cylinder… and you can see where it's running down the side of the block from the head gasket. The electronic vacuum pump had blown a fuse blown so at some point it overloaded the circuit, put in a new fuse and it is not drawing a massive amount of amperage at this time. Vehicle appears to have a catastrophic type head gasket issue, and these engines Dodge is having huge problems with right now, as far as fixing them. Customer elected to trade the vehicle in rather than explore repair options

Remove wheels from vehicle. Inspect brakes. Computer spin balance. Reinstall wheels to vehicle and torque lug nuts to manufacturer's specifications.
TIRE DISPOSAL

Inspect hoses and clamps. Pressure test cooling system. Flush engine, radiator, and heater core in both directions. Bring Antifreeze to -35 degrees. PH balance coolant to between 9.8 to 10.5. Check thermostat and electric cooling fan operation. Check thermostat and electric cooling fan operation.
